At CES 2022, Asus announced the ROG Flow Z13 2-in-1 gaming laptop. The Z13 is the recipient of the ROG Flow X13, released in 2021. Meanwhile, it’s a new take on the notion of a hybrid gaming laptop/tablet with an additional GPU enclosure for added gaming power. Here we will be going through the specifications, features, projected pricing, and availability of the new Asus ROG Flow Z13 in Nepal.
Asus ROG Flow Z13 Overview:
Design and Display
The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is a lightweight laptop with a 13.4″ display and a 16:10 aspect ratio. A FHD (1920 x 1200 pixels) 120Hz display or a 4K (3,840 x 2,400 pixels) 60Hz display are the two screen options. The slate’s body is only 12mm (0.47″) thick.
Moving into the design, the Asus ROG Flow Z13 has a unique look. And can be used both as a laptop and a tablet. Further, you can disconnect the screen from the keyboard, and because it has a 170-degree kickstand on the rear, you can try pairing it with a gamepad and setting it up on a table for some Nintendo Switch-style gaming. Moreover, Asus went with a “retro-futurism design.” The ROG Flow Z13’s chassis is CNC-milled aluminum with an anti-fingerprint finish. In addition, Gorilla Glass protection, Adaptive Sync, Dolby Vision, and Pantone Validation are all included.
Performance and Memory
The latest mobile CPUs from Intel and NVIDIA come in this gaming tablet. It builds, with an Intel Core i9-12900H processor and an RTX 3050 Ti graphics card. MUX (Multiplexer) Switch is available on discrete GPU models, allowing users to disable integrated graphics in aid of discrete GPU for performance improvement. Further, you can also use the XG Mobile interface to connect an RTX 3080 or Radeon RX 6850M XT eGPU.
Moving on, the Asus ROG Flow Z13 has two 8GB LPDDR5 RAM sticks for a total of 16GB RAM. Moreover, you can choose from 512GB or 1TB of NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD.
Cooling
Asus has employed liquid metal in its case, claiming that it can keep the CPU up to 10 degrees cooler. A vapor chamber that expands over heat pipes for the CPU, GPU, and VRAM is also present. Then there are the Arc Flow Fans, which have ultra-thin 0.15mm fins and a 0dB cooling mode.
In terms of ventilation and cooling, the fact that the essential components are on the back of the screen rather than underneath the keyboard provides it an edge over standard laptops.
Ports
The Asus ROG Flow Z13 appears to have an acceptable port array for a thin-and-light gaming laptop/tablet. There are two USB-A ports, one USB-C port (one of which supports Thunderbolt 4), a headphone/mic jack, a microSD card reader, and a custom interface for connecting the ROG XG Mobile GPU enclosure.
Battery and Others
A 56Wh Li-ion battery powers the tablet, which comes with a 100W Type-C power adaptor from Asus.
A portable screen cover keyboard with 1.7mm key travel and N-key rollover is included with the tablet. It has single-zone RGB backlighting and is Aura Sync compatible. A touchpad is also built inside the keyboard cover.
The ROG Flow Z13 comes with two Smart AMP speakers that support Dolby Atmos audio. A 3-mic array with AI noise cancellation is also included.

Price and Availability
The Asus ROG Flow Z13 will be available for purchase in Q1 2022 for EUR 1,899. If and when the Asus ROG Flow Z13 (2022) comes to Nepal, we estimate it to start at NPR 300,000.
