The Honor Magic V, a former Huawei sub-brand, is the company’s first foldable smartphone which will go on sale in China on January 18. It has a folding design similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold phones, with a large internal folding display and a smaller external display. Design and Display
The internal folding screen of the Magic V measures 7.9 inches from corner to corner, has a resolution of 2272 x 1984, a refresh rate of 90Hz, and an aspect ratio of 10:9, somewhat larger than Samsung’s Z Fold 3. The internal display is equivalent to using two 21:9 screens side by side.
Meanwhile, the external screen is slightly larger than the Z Fold 3, measuring 6.45 inches (against 6.2 inches for Samsung) and featuring a 120Hz refresh rate.
Furthermore, it is 72.7mm broad, 14.3mm thick, and 160.4mm tall when folded. The device stretches to 141.1mm wide and is 6.7mm thick when unfurled. It comes in three colors Black, Burnt Orange, Space Silver.
Performance and memory
The Magic V is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU. Meanwhile, it comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. According to Honor, it is 5G ready and runs Honor’s Magic UI 6.0 software on top of Android 12 and allows for the simultaneous display of several program windows.
Optical features
As for optics, the Honor Magic V has a triple camera configuration on the back, which includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture, a 50-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture, and a 50-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture. Likewise, it sports a single front camera with a 42-megapixel sensor and an f/2.4 aperture for selfies.
Battery and others
The device comes with a 4,750mAh battery that can be charged at up to 66W and claims to charge 50% in 15 minutes.
As for connectivity, it comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth v5.20, NFC, Infrared, and USB Type-C.
Additionally, it has an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor. Similarly, you can see face unlock also.

Price and Availability
The Honor Magic V, the company’s first foldable smartphone, goes official in China on January 18. The 256GB storage model costs 9,999 Yuan (about $1,569) and the higher 12+512GB model retails at CNY 10,999. We expect the price of Honor Magic V to start at NPR 195,000 if and when it launches in Nepal.
