Redmi 9C Overview
The Redmi 9C is an entry-level phone that differs somewhat from the Redmi 9A and includes enhancements. The phone has a 6.53-inch touchscreen display with 720×1600 pixels resolution. Moreover, the phone was released on June 30, 2020. Due to a recent price increase, the phone has become a little more expensive since its first release. Design and Display
The 6.53-inch HD+ display of the Redmi 9C has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. It’s referred to as a DotDrop display. Because of the 20:9 aspect ratio, the panel appears to be tall. With a maximum brightness of 400 nits. Furthermore,the Redmi 9C measures 164.90 x 77.07 x 9.00mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 196.00 grams.
Moving on to display, the back and frame of the Redmi 9C are both comprised of plastic. A textured design on the back helps to prevent fingerprints. Meanwhile, you can see it boasts a triple camera arrangement flanked by a fingerprint sensor on the back. It has a teardrop notch design on the front.
Performance and Memory
The Mediatek Helio G35 chipset powers the Redmi 9C. It boasts an octa-core CPU with 8 Cortex-A53 cores at 2.3 GHz. It also includes a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It’s an octa-core CPU based on a 12nm FinFET technology, just like the G25.
The smartphone comes with 2/3GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32/64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. The Redmi 9C runs MIUI 11 on top of Android 10 and comes with 32GB of internal storage that can be increased by a microSD card (up to 512GB) in a dedicated slot.
Camera
The Redmi 9C has a triple camera arrangement on the back. You can see a 13MP primary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture. It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture for selfies. These three cameras, as well as an LED flash, are housed within the square camera module.
Battery and others
The Redmi 9C has a 5,000mAh battery. It does not support quick charging and only has a 10W output.

Price and Availability
After the recent price increase, the Redmi 9C starts at Rs. 13,999 for the base 2/32GB variant, and Rs. 15,999 for the 3/64GB variant. Similarly, the 4/128GB model cost Rs. 17,999.

Final thoughts
The Redmi 9C is an upgrade phone over the Redmi 9A, with a fingerprint sensor and powerful chipset. It also comes with a three-camera configuration. However, the enhanced chipset and availability of the 128GB variant appeal to me. Due to a recent price increase, the phone has become a little more expensive since its first release.
