Apple has wrapped up its first product event of the year 2022. They have announced an affordable and updated iPhone, an updated iPad Air, the newest, most powerful Mac chip, and Mac Studio Display. The following are some of the highlights from the event:
Apple Performance Event 2022 Recap
Apple started the events with a few brief announcements. The first announcement was Apple’s deal with Major League Baseball games on Friday nights.
Similarly, Apple TV Plus will get additional programs and movies.
In addition, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro will be available in a new green color: Green and Alpine Green, respectively.
And they moved to the main highlight of the Apple Peek Performance Event. Apple announced the iPhone SE featuring an A15 Bionic processor, 5G, and multiple camera enhancements. Further, there is a new iPad Air 5 with an M1 chip.
Similarly, Apple has revealed the new Mac Studio computer, which features a blazing M1 Ultra CPU.
In addition, there was also a new Apple Studio Display with 5K resolution that costs less than the Pro XDR.

The event took place on a virtual platform on March 8 at 10 a.m. PST. The event lasted approximately 90 minutes and began with a brief products and services announcement. Let’s take a closer look at each product introduced at the event, including its specifications, features, and price.
Apple TV +
Apple has announced that two exclusive Major League Baseball games broadcast on Friday nights. Meanwhile, this will be Apple’s first foray into live sports.
Moreover, Apple stated that it will broadcast live pregame and postgame shows that are not subject to local broadcast limitations and will not require an Apple TV+ subscription for the time being.
However, it will air in the United States, United Kingdom, Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Brazil.
iPhone 13 series in Green shades
Apple is releasing iPhone 13 series in two colors. The iPhone 13 comes in “green” and the iPhone 13 Pro in “alpine green” shades. Meanwhile, People can pre-order the new shades of the iPhone 13 series starting this Friday.
iPhone SE with Bionic A15 chip and 5G
Apple has just released a new affordable iPhone SE. However, this iPhone SE is the upgraded version of the 2020 model that now comes with the most recent iPhone chip.
Display
The new iPhone SE has a similar design and displays to the previous iPhone SE 2020. However, the iPhone SE has no outside plastic cover and is made of recycled materials.
It has a 4.7-inch rectangular display and a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. Similarly, it has a 12-megapixel camera on the back.
The major upgrade in this iPhone SE is the A15 Bionic chip, 5G, and multiple camera enhancements. Meanwhile, the A15 Bionic packs a powerful 6-core CPU to handle demanding tasks.
Price
The new iPhone SE will cost $429. Although it is more than the $399 model Apple released in 2020, it can be considered a significant price increase. Meanwhile, it will be available on March 18th.
New iPad Air
Apple unveiled the iPad Air, a new version of its mid-range iPad. It is powered by Apple’s M1 chip. Similarly, it includes 5G support as an option. Meanwhile, the iPad Air was updated for the first time in 2020.
What is new in iPad Air?
Its front-facing camera has been improved to a 12-megapixel camera with a wide-angle lens. It enables the Center Stage feature that can track subjects as they move around in the picture when video conferencing.
Price
The iPad Air will cost $599, with optional storage capacity and cellular upgrades. It will be available in stores on March 18.
Mac Studio with M1 Ultra new chip
The Mac Studio, a display-less desktop computer, is Apple’s first new Mac model in years. It’s a cube-shaped aluminum box with USB-C connections on the front and an SD card slot.
Apple has announced a display less Mac Studio, which is the company’s first new Mac model in years. It stands taller than the current Mac Mini.
It measures 7.7 inches square at the base and 3.7 inches in height. Meanwhile, the extra height is utilized to house large fans that help keep the computer cool.
Moreover, the Mac Studio is powered by the high-performance M1 Ultra chipset. Apple claims that the M1 Ultra effectively doubles the size of Apple’s prior M1 chips using a connecting mechanism called Ultra-Fusion.
According to Apple, it boasts more transistors than any other PC CPU and a 64-core graphics processor.
Price
The starting price of Mac Studio is $1999 for an M1 Max processor. Similarly, the M1 Ultra model costs $3999.
Mac Studio Display
Display
It boasts a 27-inch 5K Retina screen, speakers, and a built-in camera. It comes in two designs: an all-aluminum enclosure with a tilting stand and a tilt and height-adjustable stand.
Price
The Mac Studio Display will cost $1,599. Meanwhile, it is available for pre-ordering.
Final Thoughts
Apple Events and their products are never subtle announcements. However, while many customers were anticipating Apple to introduce the iPhone 14, the company instead surprised everyone by announcing the upgrading of the iPhone SE and iPad Air.
Still, there’s no need to be disappointed because Apple is saving the big reveal until its September event. Also, this was just an Apple Peek Performance Event.
