iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max Overview
As we await Apple’s formal introduction of the iPhone 15 lineup, A recent online leak has presented an unofficial image of the anticipated iPhone 15 Pro. This leak aligns with earlier speculation surrounding the incorporation of solid-state buttons and a potential redesign of the mute switch. It was also suggested that Pro models will offer noticeably thinner bezels and curved edges just like the Apple Watch-like effect. In this article, we will discuss leaks and rumors about the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (officially and unofficially).
Taptic buttons and mute switch
Recent speculations about the iPhone 15 Pro are centered on the introduction of “Taptic Buttons” and modifications to Apple’s iconic mute switch. While earlier rumors indicated that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max might feature elongated volume buttons with haptic feedback, fresh claims suggest that these devices will retain the previous two-button layout from earlier models. Nevertheless, confirmation awaits the official unveiling of the devices.
In a departure from tradition, the mute switch that has been a hallmark of iPhones since the first iteration is rumored to be substituted with a pressable mute button. However, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are anticipated to retain the familiar mute switch configuration.
Design & Display
Moreover, the devices are purported to boast exceptionally slender bezels, measuring a mere 1.55mm. It is suggested that these bezels could be the slimmest ever seen on a smartphone, potentially outdoing the 1.81mm bezels found on the current leader in this regard, the Xiaomi 13 series.
Continuing on, the iPhone 15 Pro, much like its predecessor in the iPhone 14 Pro series, is expected to feature a Dynamic Island. In this feature, it is projected to be present across the entire iPhone 15 lineup. Despite this, the 15 Pro is expected to maintain the same screen size and resolution as the iPhone 14 Pro. The presented CAD renders indicate a more curved frame that seamlessly meets the display.
As a worthwhile alteration, Apple involves the material used for the chassis of iPhone 15 Pro models, which is rumored to transition from stainless steel (as seen in previous models) to titanium. However, this change will reportedly be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max variants. The display specifications, meanwhile, are expected to resemble those of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, featuring OLED screens at 6.1 and 6.7 inches.
In terms of color choices, rumors suggest that the 15 Pro series will be available in blue, silver, space gray/black, and titanium gray options.
3nm A17 Bionic chip Performances
Concerning performance, the upcoming iPhones are set to run on Apple’s forthcoming A17 Bionic chip, which is anticipated to leverage TSMC’s advanced 3nm architecture. While the “Pro” variants will enjoy the benefits of this newer processor, the standard iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models might incorporate the A16 Bionic chip instead. This decision is likely influenced by the higher production costs associated with the new A17 chip.
In addition to the chip upgrade, there are expectations that the devices will see an increase in RAM capacity, potentially ranging from 6GB to 8 GB. However, recent leaks contradict this, suggesting that the iPhones will maintain the existing 6GB RAM configuration. Furthermore, it’s reported that the Pro models will initiate their storage options at 256GB.

Camera
The devices are said to share a similar arrangement of camera sensors, with a single notable difference. Both models are anticipated to include telephoto cameras, while the 15 Pro Max might distinguish itself with the incorporation of a periscope lens, enabling 6x optical zoom. In contrast, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max feature a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
Similarly, the camera protrusion in the leaked image appears to be more pronounced on the 15 Pro Max, suggesting the possibility of a larger camera sensor compared to the 14 Pro. However, the design of the camera housing and sensor placement remains consistent with that of the 14 Pro. Likewise, they are also slated to introduce upgraded rear cameras featuring a hybrid lens crafted from glass and plastic, boasting an f/1.7 aperture.
Battery
According to a Twitter user named RGCOULDS, there are rumors that the iPhone 15 series might adopt stacked battery technology, similar to Electric Vehicles. Stacked batteries would enable higher energy density by reducing the space between cells through lamination, potentially leading to improved battery life and more even heat distribution.
The iPhone 15 lineup is expected to feature larger batteries than its predecessors, with the Plus model sporting a 4912mAh battery, the Pro Max with 4,852mAh, the vanilla model with 3,877mAh, and the Pro model with 3,650mAh. The tipster also suggests that Apple is considering 40W wired fast charging and 20W charging through MagSafe for future iPhones, although it is uncertain whether these upgrades will be part of the iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 lineup.
Other Features
Subsequent to the directives from the European Union (EU) and India, stipulating the adoption of USB-C ports across smartphones and similar gadgets, the iPhone 15 series will notably integrate USB-C connectivity. Notably, the iPhone 15 Pro iterations will showcase an enhanced USB-C port featuring swifter transfer speeds of USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3. In an additional enhancement, the chargers’ hues will be coordinated with the respective iPhone colors. Furthermore, reports suggest an increase in charging efficiency to 35W.
