Anyone who isn’t living under a rock knows that Xiaomi is a name to be trusted when it comes to delivering kickass mid-range smartphones. Delivering a lot more for a lot less seems to be their motto. And Mi’s latest Note 10 just seems to further prove the point.
Being the world’s first smartphone to sport a 108 MP Penta camera phone, this gizmo got tons of love internationally. Some even dubbed it as the Swiss Army knife of mobile photography. Following an online press conference held by Xiaomi Nepal today, both the Note 10 and the Note 10 Lite have effectively entered the Nepali market. Not only is this the first Mi flagship to grace Nepal after two whole years, but the launch of Xiaomi’s Mi Note 10 also marks another significant milestone: Nepal’s first 5G smartphone.
While affordable 5G connectivity might still be a long reach for us Nepali users, the other features that this phone sports still makes it a top choice for anyone looking for a good mid-to-high range smartphone.
Mi Note 10 Overview: Dream Big, Shoot Epic
First things first, this gizmo is a total beauty to look at. With a 6.47″ 3D curved AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 87.57%, it scores pretty well on aesthetics. Protected under the loving care of Cornering Gorilla Glass 5, the screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 px and 398 PPI pixel density. Placed in-screen, we also have the company’s improved Responsive Fingerprint sensor.
It also supports FHD+ and HDR 10 display, which is interesting to note. According to Xiaomi, this display provides a clearer and much more high contrast viewing experience for its users.
Cameras:
Look at any Mi flagship and you’ll find that the cameras are on of their main selling points. Mi prides itself on its cameras, and it seems the Mi Note 10 definitely doesn’t disappoint us either.
The AI quad-camera setup on the rear houses a 108MP Sony IMX 686 UHD primary lens, 20 MP Ultrawide Cameras, 12MP, and 8MP Telephoto lens, and a 2MP Macro camera, for awe-inspiring detailed macro shots. The camera setup allows for Ultra-HD 8K video recording. It also supports Macro video shooting, Vlog video, 4K video recording, Night Shooting 2.0, Portrait mode with background blurring, Panorama mode, and Pro mode. The Mi Note 10 also happens to be the world’s first mass-produced phone with 108MP cameras. And while higher Megapixels don’t necessarily always amount to better camera shots, it definitely does help. So far, this is a pretty impressive portfolio fitting of a Mi flagship.
On the front, a U-shaped notch houses the Note 10’s selfie camera. This 32MP UHD selfie snapper comes with features like Panorama selfie (for when you get out of quarantine and take exceptionally large group selfies, we suppose), Palm shutter, AI silhouette detection and Wide-angle distortion correction. Needless to say, your selfies will end up crisp, crystal clear, and cute.

Hardware and Software:
On the hardware side of things, we have the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 730G processor keeping things running under the hood. This is interesting to see, as it is the same chipset used in the Mi Note 10 Lite. The CPU is an octa-core Kryo™ 470, 8nm one. An Adreno™ 618 graphics processor is housed in the GPU slot to keep your graphics experience top-of-the-line.
The phone comes in two variants: 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB.
Talking about the software side of things, we have the MIUI 11 keeping things user-friendly. And while quite a few people seem to dislike the general existence of the MIUI 11, the awesome features like Wireless Printing, Gaming Toolbox 2.0, Mi Share, etc are some good features you just can’t brush aside casually.
Battery and peripherals:
The Note 10 Lite sports a 5260 mAh/ 5170mAh battery, which needless to say is pretty substantial for all your modern smartphone needs. This built-in lithium-ion polymer battery supports USB Type-C reversible connector port and supports “The World’s fastest” 30W charging. This, thank God, does come in the box.
The smartphone supports Dual Nano-SIM slots, supporting 5G, 4G+, 4G, 3G, and 2G. This, as we mentioned earlier, makes it the first 5G supporting smartphone to be released in Nepal.

Price and Availability:
The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 has been launched in Nepal as of today (30th of May, 2020). The launch price for the 6GB+128GB is NRs. 89,999. The variant with a larger memory is available internationally, though it is not released in Nepal as of yet. The phone comes in two color options: Twilight Grey and Coral Green. The phone will be available through Xiaomi’s retail stores, and through online portals as well.
