The Edge 40 takes some design cues from its sibling, the Edge 40 Pro. While the backs of the two phones differ slightly, their fronts are almost identical. However, the standard has totally different Nebula Green and Eclipse Black color variants, featuring a vegan leather coating. While being 171g in weight, slightly more than the Lunar Blue version with an acrylic finish, which weighs 167g.
The front of the phone boasts a 6.55-inch P-OLED display. It offers impressive specifications, including a high refresh rate of 144Hz, a touch sampling rate of 360Hz, support for the DCI-P3 color space, HDR10+ capability, and a peak brightness of 1200nits. The display is an 8-bit FHD+ panel, providing vibrant and detailed visuals.

Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset, which operates at a 6nm fabrication process and brings 5G connectivity to the device. This advanced silicon comprises four Cortex A-78 cores clocked at 2.6GHz for high-performance tasks and four Cortex A-55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz for efficiency.
