Design

The Pro shares a striking resemblance with its bigger counterpart, the 15 Pro Max, albeit being slightly lighter and more compact. The rear camera setup is mostly the same, except for the absence of the 5X lens found in the Pro Max. It maintains the premium build quality with a titanium frame and matte glass, similar to the pricier 15 Pro Max. The front is shielded by a Ceramic Shield, and the phone boasts an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

Compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro, the overall design philosophy remains consistent. However, the latest iPhone is lighter weighing 187 grams as opposed to the 206 grams of the 14 Pro, albeit with a slightly thicker body. Moreover, it has the action button, a programmable button that replaces the traditional alert slider, offering more versatility beyond merely adjusting the phone’s ring settings.

Performance & Memory

Powering the Pro variants is the all-new A17 Pro chip, Apple’s first “pro” chip, and the industry’s first 3nm-based chip. The six-core CPU is up to 10% faster than the previous A16 Bionic, with a significant boost in ray tracing performance, claiming to offer the fastest ray tracing performance in a smartphone. The phone is available in four storage options: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, catering to various user needs.
