Huawei has launched the latest iteration of their fitness band in Nepal, the Huawei Band 6. Though, the band in and of itself is nothing new as it is nearly identical to the Honor Band 6 that launched in China towards the end of 2020. So what is the new band from Huawei like? Let’s get into that.
Design and Overview:
The face of the band is a 1.47” inch FullView AMOLED display which makes it look less of a band and more of a smartwatch. The resolution of the display is 194×368 pixels which when spread across the 1.47” inch screen gives it a pixel density of 282ppi and it supports 4-way touchscreen controls. The entire package is water-resistant up to 5ATM and weighs in at just 18gms. Because of the fullView or the full-screen display, the button takes the right side of the watch. Huawei packs in several watch face to choose from to go on top of that full-view display.
On top of that, the band on the Huawei Band 6 is UV treated Huawei claims makes the silicone skin-friendly and dirt resistant. The actual band and the strap are available in three different colors- Graphite Black, Forest Green, and Amber Sunrise.

Health and Fitness Tracking:
The Huawei Band 6 packs in what Huawei calls TruSeen 4.0 based heart rate monitoring for 24hr heart rate monitoring and prompting you for changes in heart rate above or below safety levels. It also packs in a SpO2 sensor for monitoring oxygen levels. Though it doesn’t measure your oxygen levels continuously, you can rest assured to be alerted when it gets low.
Huawei has also packed in TruSleep 2.0, basically, sleep tracking that can keep track of deep, light, REM, and even short naps. Huawei claims that it can detect 6 major sleep problems and when paired with the Huawei Health app can give you 200 suggestions to improve your sleep cycle. Other than that, there’s TruRelax stress monitoring, menstrual cycle tracking, pedometer, etc.
It can track 96 different exercise modes and has moderate to high intensity activities tracking.
Assistant Features:
The Huawei Band 6 will alert you for calls, messages, and other notifications. Once paired with the smartphone, you can control music playback. Huawei has thrown in the remote shutter option here as well but it is still exclusive to Huawei or Honor devices running EMUI 8.1 or later.
Underneath the hood:
The battery capacity isn’t disclosed but considering its resemblance to the Honor Band 6, we expect it to be 180mAh. Huawei claims that the battery will last 14 days on a single charge for typical use cases and 10 days for heavy use case scenarios. The Huawei Band 6 uses magnetic pogo pin connectors for charging and Huawei claims that 5 minutes of charge will get you 2 days of normal usage.
