Huawei announced multiple announcements apart from its Android substitute- HarmonyOS 2.0. Apart from the software, Huawei also announced new additions to its MatePad tablet lineups running HarmonyOS 2.0. The three tablets Huawei touted include- MatePad Pro 12.6, MatePad Pro 10.8, and MatePad 11. These tablets will be available to the European market and here’s what they have on offer.
Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 and Huawei MatePad Pro 10.8
Huawei’s MatePad Pro 12.6 is the flagship tablet offering which bids against the likes of Apple’s iPad Pro and Samsung’s Tab S-series. It packs in a 12.6” inch QHD+ OLED display with 2560x1600p resolution. The refresh rate is capped at only 60Hz though. The bezels are thin, and the front-facing camera resides in the middle of the side bezel, which mimics a laptop set up during video calls. The display covers 100% of the DCI P3 color gamut and is HDR 10 compliant. At the helm of the device is the Kirin 9000E SoC.
There’s a 10,000mAh battery running the show with support for 40W fast wired charging, 27W wireless with support for 10W reverse wireless charging.
The Huawei MatePad Pro 10.8 serves as the smaller sibling to the 12.6. This contraption gets a 10.8” inch IPS LCD panel with a higher 120Hz refresh rate. This is a shrunk-down MatePad Pro 12.6 and shares common design traits, including the selfie shooter, HDR 10 compliance, and entire coverage of DCI-P3 Color space. Underneath the hood, it houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. This one gets a 7,250mAh battery.
Both of these variants are available in gray, green, and white colors and 8GB RAM with 128GB/256GB storage config. Both of them host eight speakers tuned by Harman/Kardon. They also get quad-microphones which gives them the ability to pick up voices from a 5-meter distance. While the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 goes for €799 for the European market, the pricing and availability for the smaller one remain undisclosed.
Keep an eye around for the availability of these tablets if you fancy one. As of, now Huawei has kept its silence.
