Vivo V21 Pre Booking has started in Nepal

Vivo has opened the pre-bookings for the Vivo V21. The smartphone that is supposed to be the predecessor to the V20, carries over a similar design with some spec changes underneath the hood.

Firstly, let’s get done with what perks you get if you pre-book your unit. Vivo bundles in a smartphone mount and a pair of TWS earbuds as freebies alongside your unit of the Vivo V21. to book yours, you can visit the nearest Vivo Authorized retailer where you’ll have to fill up a form and an NRs.2000 token amount. Once you’ve done that, you’re good to go. Early adopters (who haven’t pre-booked Vivo v21) making the purchase between July 20 to July 31 will also get the wireless earbuds.

With all that out of the way, let’s get into what the Vivo v21 has on offer.

Overview:

Build and Display:

The Vivo V21 gets a plastic build i.e. plastic frame and a plastic back with a glass front that wraps around the 6.44” inch AMOLED display. The display here is an E3 panel sourced from Samsung and gets a 90Hz refresh and is HDR10+ compliant.

Given that it is an AMOLED panel, the fingerprint scanner sits underneath the display itself. There’s a dew-drop notch present that accommodates the selfie shooter. The display gets a peak brightness of 800 nits (HBM-High Brightness Mode) with 500 nits in standard mode.

The back panel has been brought over from the forerunner V20 with a similar AG Matte Glass Design. Aesthetically, the Vivo V21 is a spec revamp in a v20 body. Interestingly, the thickness does vary between the color options that Vivo has on offer with the Blue variant measuring 7.92mm in thickness and weighing in at 176gms while other color options viz. Sunset Dazzle and Arctic White measure in at 7.39mm and weigh in at 177gms.

Underneath the Hood:

At the helm of the Vivo v21 is the MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC. This is a 7nm chipset with two powerful Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4GHz each and six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz each. This is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of UFS 2.2. storage. Handling the graphic duties is the Mali-G57 GPU. The storage can further be expanded via micro SD but since it is a hybrid slot, you’ll have to choose between secondary storage and secondary SIM.

There are two variants- 4G and 5G of the Vivo V21 available for the international markets. But what we’re getting here is a 4G variant. Regardless of the variant, the chipset remains the same, and the only difference between them being the MODEM. Apart from that, there’s support for Dual-band wifi and Bluetooth 5.1.  

Cameras:

Moving on to the optics front, the Vivo V21 houses a triple-camera setup to the back. The primary camera is a 64MP  f/1/.8 sensor with a secondary 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide sensor with 120-degree field of view and a 2MP f/2.4 macro. The highlight here is the presence of OIS and its capability to record 4K videos at 30fps.

The selfie shooter is a 44MP f/2.0 sensor flanked with dual-LED flash. Vivo V21 can be enticing to budding vloggers, as it can shoot simultaneously with both the cameras and with OIS for the front camera as well. 4k@30fps is present and accounted for the front-facing camera shooter as well.

Battery:

Powering the device is a 4000mAh battery with support for 33watt fast charging which Vivo claims can get the V21 from 0 to 63% in 30 minutes.

The price hasn’t been disclosed yet. But with the pre-orders ending on the 19th of July, it is only a matter of time. But to put guesses into numbers, you can expect the Vivo V21 to cost somewhere between NRs. 45,000 to NRs.50,000.
