Following the launch of the Vivo V21 and the V21e, Vivo Nepal is now teasing its upcoming smartphone- the Vivo Y53s. Just as the Y-series smartphones from Vivo have been, the Y53s is a mid-ranger from Vivo. Making its debut in Vietnam last month, followed by the Indian launch, it is finally making its way to Nepal. Note that there’s a 5G option for the device available in some regions, but we will be getting the 4G version for Nepal. With that said, let’s get into what specs and features it has to offer along with its expected price in Nepal.
Vivo Y53s Overview:
Build and Display:
Upfront the Y53s is a 6.58” inch IPS LCD panel with 1080×2408 pixels i.e. FHD+ resolution. This isn’t a high-refresh-rate panel like its 5G sibling and it gets a standard 60Hz refresh rate instead of 90Hz on the 5G variant. The touch sampling rate here is 120Hz. The device measures 8.38mm in thickness and weighs 190 grams. The display has a dewdrop notch that accommodates the selfie shooter.
Performance and Memory:
At the helm of the Vivo Y53s is the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC. We’ve seen this chipset on several budget smartphones like the Redmi 9 Prime, Poco M2, Samsung Galaxy A32, and more. Regardless, this is an octa-core chipset fabricated on the 12nm process. Paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of onboard storage as standard.
Cameras:
On the optics front, the Vivo Y53s gets a triple camera setup to the rear housed in a rectangular camera bump. As for the sensors themselves, the primary is a 64MP f/1.8 sensor accompanied by two 2MP cameras- one macro and the other a monochrome lens. On the video front, the Vivo Y53s gets EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization).
For selfies, there’s a 16MP shooter baked into the dewdrop notch.
Battery and Charging:
Powering up the internals is a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging which Vivo likes to call Flash Charging over USB-C.
