It’s no secret that Xiaomi’s ambitious offshoot- Redmi, has produced a lot of awesome smartphones. With its sights set on fulfilling the needs of photographers, every new model comes out with brilliant design and camera specs. This time too, Redmi has brought something new to the table. And this ‘new to the table’ comes Redmi Y3 bundled with a 32MP selfie camera!
Yesterday, MI Nepal announced the market release of this selfie-beast Redmi Y3 in Nepal. This phone brings the signature Kryo architecture to the Redmi Y series for the first time ever.

Redmi Y3: General overview
With its 6.26-inch IPS display and a cute little camera notch on the top, the Redmi Y3 is quite a beauty to look at. It introduces the Redmi Note 7 series’ Aura Design in a new form with the Aura Prism. It features micro lines on the rear that give out a stunning prism-like effect. The phone also boasts a Cornering Gorilla Glass 5 screen on the front end, with reinforced corners. Furthermore, the P2i nano-coating makes extra sure that the phone has a certain degree of resistance to external forces like water splashes and such. It comes in three shades: Elegant Blue, Prime Black, and Bold Red
On the processor side of things, this is the first of the Redmi Y series to boast the custom Qualcomm Kryo cores in the Snapdragon 632 chipset. This octa-core processor has been segmented to two groups of four Kryo 250 cores for extra control over hardware intensive tasks. The phone also comes with the Adreno 506 GPU that makes sure you get to enjoy your favourite games with the best visual experience.
It would be a sin to leave out the camera portion of this phone. As previously mentioned, this beast flaunts an overwhelming 32MP selfie camera with features like low-light photography, AI portrait selfie and 360 AI face unlock, just to name a few. On the rear end, it houses a dual camera setup of (12+2)MP.
It also offers a massive 4000mAh battery that allows two full days of battery life, which has previously only been offered in the Redmi Note models.
Pricing and Availability:
The 3GB + 32GB variant of the phone will start from Rs. 18,499 while the 4GB + 64GB variant will come come at Rs. 21,499 for all the shades of the phone. They will be available in physical stores and online stores like Daraz starting from the 6th of May 2019.
