NAAMII has hosted a Nepal Winter School AI program back in 2018,December. In the meanwhile, the first edition took place in December of 2018. Following the success of the first edition, the second edition took place in December 2019. And from that time, Nami announced they would be hosting a Nepal AI School program every year. But in year 2020, Nepal AI School Program was interrupt due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And finally, this year they are back with NAAMII Nepal Winter School AI-2021 in Nepal. This event gathers together researchers, professors, young researchers, and professionals from around the world. They disseminate and discuss the fundamentals and applications of modern AI technologies. Here we will go through the detail.
What is its purpose?
- NAAMII Nepal Winter School AI-2021 event is for students and AI enthusiasts who wish to improve their AI skills and keep up with the latest developments in the area.
- Inspire early-stage researchers in Nepal and the region to tackle difficult high-impact AI problems in different areas. For example: visual recognition, natural language processing, and medical science, among others.
- Provide a forum for senior and young academics from around the world. They can utilize this platform to share and discuss cutting-edge technological breakthroughs in AI.
- Create new opportunities for participants and contribute to democratization.
What NAAMII 3rd Nepal Winter School in AI offers you?
It is the third edition of the Winter School in AI program, since the year 2020 program was interrupted. In the last two programs, 300 people were chosen from 20 countries while there were pool of applications. Also, Participants can either attend the program in person or remotely. Meanwhile, you can learn several things from this program. Here, Participants will obtain theoretical and practical expertise in various aspects like Artificial Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and other topics. All of these topics are cover throughout ten days. In addition, Hiking and gala dinners will provide opportunities for participants to meet and network with like-minded people.
Who has taken the lead to Evaluate?
All the lectures, practical activities, and evaluations of scientific publications will be cover during the school under the supervision of experts. Similarly, researchers and faculty members from some of the most prestigious universities and research institutions are part of it including Stanford, Imperial College London, ETH, UCL, and Zurich.
What is the procedure for applying for NAAMI?
This AI Winter School will take place in the Kathmandu valley from December 20 to December 30. Meanwhile, the event will be organized in a hybrid style by NAAMII. You can go through its official website to find the application form for NAAMII 3rd Nepal Winter School. Apart from this, the Students will be charge Rs. 8,000 for the event. Whereas, academics and working professionals will be charge differently. Furthermore, the form must be submit by December 1st.
