Design & Built
In terms of design, the basic layout of the RS 4 remains similar to the RS 3, maintaining the placement of controls such as the control stick, battery grip, and tilt arm.
However, there are differences in size and weight between the two models, with the RS 4 being slightly larger and heavier. Despite this, the RS 4 maintains the same payload capacity of up to 3 kg, and its larger tilt arm can accommodate cameras with larger bodies.
Visually, the RS 4 distinguishes itself from its predecessor by removing the red streak paint from the tilt arm and introducing Teflon coating on the axis arms for smoother balancing and reduced friction.
Performance
Control-wise, the RS 4 features a 1.8-inch touchscreen, a joystick for gimbal arm control, record and mode buttons, a joystick mode switch, a dial, and a trigger.
The implementation of fourth-generation RS stabilization algorithms enhances stability, vertical shooting, and low-angle shots. Additionally, support for the Focus Pro Motor results in a 30% increase in motor speed and improved lens zoom adjustments.
New Features & Battery
New features include second-generation axis locks for quicker activation and sleep mode entry, as well as an RSA communication port for compatibility with DJI and third-party accessories.
The RS 4 is compatible with the DJI Ronin app, offering users control over gimbal motor parameters, remote setup, real-time operation data, and various shooting modes like panorama, timelapse, and object tracking.
Battery-wise, the RS 4 comes with a 3000mAh battery grip, providing up to 12 hours of usage, with support for the BG70 high-capacity battery grips.
