Who is the founder of Galli Maps?
The founder of Galli Maps is Raj Bikram Maharjan the CEO and Co-Founder of Airlift Technologies.
As a hobby, Maharjan was interested in drone-making and flying, and when he returned to Nepal after completing his studies, he was given a promising opportunity to contribute country’s technologies advancements.
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic (2020), He encounter challenges with the delivery that he purchased online, and the problem of numerous individuals with similar challenges.
Maharjan was already providing drone mapping services to local organizations and engineering consultancies that is when he had a brilliant idea. Developing localized maps while offering detailed 3D visuals that help individuals navigate through the intricate network of narrow streets.
When was Galli Maps Applications launched?
In 2022, Maharjan successfully launched “Galli Maps”. It was inaugurated by the mayor of Kritipur Municipality. Although the app was officially launched in 2022, Maharjan reveals that the beta phase was actually commenced in the middle of 2020, which initially in the prototype stage.

Initially, it took an additional year to fully develop and refine the app. As per Maharjan, the app needed an extensive five-month research period to ensure its quality. To bolster their expertise, he enlisted the help of Janam Maharjan, a co-founder and friend with a background as an information and communication engineer specializing in antenna design and mobile app development.

The Galli Maps Application utilizes high-resolution drone images and house ID numbers for various regions such as Kathmandu, Kritipur, and Kageshwor Municipalities.
How to use Galli Maps App?
With these simple steps, you can use the “Galli Maps” Applications;
- Download the “Galli Maps” Application on either Android or iOS devices.
- Open the app and swipe the text that says “Find the way”. (After Agree for GPS access)
- The application will then be open and ready to use.
