Bollywood superstar, film producer, and former politician Amitabh Bachchan has recently been approached by Google in regards to lending his voice for their new voice navigation system.
A multi-award-winning film-star and producer, Bachchan is quite popular for his deep, rich voice in the Bollywood sphere. He has hosted countless radio shows before his success in the film industry, narrated many films and in 2005 even won an Oscar for his narration in the movie Penguins.
Mid-Day reports frequent talks between Google’s Maps Team and the actor, who now lives in a posh bungalow in Mumbai. According to the report, Bachchan will have all the necessary arrangements to record the required voiceovers when he signs the contract. The report mentions a pretty juicy deal for the 77-year-old Bollywood Shahenshah. Right now, the default voice navigation is by Karen Jacobsen, who is also the voice behind Siri.
