Honor Magic 5 series is the latest upcoming smartphone which is also the company’s 2023 1st device lineup. It is confirmed that it will be launched at the Mobile World Congress 2023 event on February 27.

Built & Display
According to sources on Weibo, the Honor Magic 5 and 5 Pro will feature a 6.8-inch OLED display with variable refresh rates ranging from 1 to 120Hz thanks to the incorporation of LTPO technology.
Other notable display features include a 480Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and a brightness level of up to 1100 nits.
The design of the Magic 5 and 5 Pro is expected to be a metal-glass hybrid. The Magic 5 Pro may have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, while the standard Magic 5 model may have an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Performances
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip will power both devices. This top-of-the-line processor has three efficiency-focused Cortex-A510 (2.0 GHz) cores, two Cortex-A715 (3.2 GHz) cores, two Cortex-A710 (2.8 GHz) cores, and one high-performance Cortex-X3 (3.2 GHz) core.
They are said to also support memory combinations of up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.
Camera
There has also been outlined about the device’s camera module. The standard one is said to have a primary camera of 54MP, courtesy of Sony’s IMX800, a 50MP Sony IMX758 lens, and a 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor.
Meanwhile, the Magic 5 Pro will feature a Sony IMX516 camera, an OmniVision OV64B sensor, and a primary camera with OIS capabilities made by Sony. Both models will include a 13MP Sony IMX688 front camera, a flicker sensor, and a ToF.
Battery & Other Features
For battery, the Magic 5 series have different capacity and types. The standard Magic 5 will be equipped with a 5000mAh battery that supports fast charging of 66W, while the Pro version will have a smaller 4,800mAh battery that supports fast charging of 100W and offers 50W wireless charging.
While supporting 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and USB 3.1 for communication. Additionally, there will be dual speakers powered by Dolby and an X-axis linear motor for haptic feedback.
For biometrics and security, both the Magic 5 and Magic 5 Pro will have an under-display fingerprint scanner. The Magic 5 Pro will have a 3D face scanner, while the Magic 5 will have a 2D face scanner.
