A new Nepali accessories brand named ‘JOSH Lifestyle’ has unveiled a range of mobile accessories in Nepal. In this review, we’ll be examining the newly launched budget-friendly earbuds from JOSH Lifestyle: the Josh Spacebuds Max and Glide ANC. With numerous accessory brands offering affordable options, the market is saturated with competition, prompting the emergence of JOSH Lifestyle. Without delay, let’s explore how JOSH Lifestyle fares in the competitive budget segment category.
Josh Spacebuds Max Review
Let’s begin with the Josh Spacebuds Max, priced at Rs. 1,999 in Nepal. Despite being constructed from plastic, it exudes a premium feel when held. The case includes a Type C port and a Type C cable. Overall, the case is compact and easily portable. It houses a 400mAh battery, while each earbud contains a 30mAh battery, providing 4 hours of playback with 1 hour of charging.
The earbuds feature an in-ear design with a small stem and silicone ear tips, ensuring a comfortable and secure fit. Extended periods of use are comfortable, with no ear discomfort or pain experienced. With reliable battery life and a snug fit, they’re suitable for uninterrupted movie-watching and podcast-listening sessions.
Connectivity
It supports Bluetooth V5.3 connectivity which gives easy support while pairing but it does not have a pair button option which is kind of weird. However, you can press 3 seconds on the sensor for the connectivity. It also has an IPX4 rating, meaning you don’t need to worry much about light rain while going to the gym.
ENC & Sensor
With Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), background ambient noise can be reduced, allowing you to enjoy your music easily. These earbuds also have sensors on the sides, where you can pause the music with a single tap, change tracks with two taps, and adjust the volume with three taps. The sensors are responsive and work decently even with quick touches. You won’t face issues with accidental touches while watching a movie in bed, riding a bike with a helmet on, or wearing a hat during a walk.
Audio
Let’s talk about the audio quality. The audio quality is pretty good. You can hear the music clearly, but the vocals feel a bit subdued. The instrumental separation, treble, and bass, all are decent. However, at high volumes, the instrumental sound tends to distort the vocals a bit. When recording audio and video, the quality is loud and clear, but even with ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation), background noise cancellation is just okay. When making phone calls, the sound seems to get muffled, causing some problems. Overall, I quite liked the sound quality at this price point.
Josh Spacebuds Glide Review
Now let’s talk about the Josh Spacebuds Glide, its price is Rs. 2,999 in Nepal. When it comes to its design and comfort, it’s superior to Spacebuds Max, I think it’s because of the metallic finish. Also, the case has a Type-C port for charging and an LED light for indicating the charging status. Personally, I prefer the LED light to be placed at the bottom for better usability.
When talking about the earbuds, they have a larger stem and smaller ear tips compared to Spacebud Max, making them comfortable and decently fitting in your ears due to their in-ear design.
Battery
The battery backup is impressive; with just 1 hour of charging, you can use them for 4-5 hours. With their comfort and good battery backup, you can enjoy music, watch movies, and listen to podcasts for a long time.
Sensor & Connectivity
They also have sensors on the sides for easy music and call control, although the touch response of the sensors feels average to me. These earbuds come with Bluetooth V5.3, ensuring stable connectivity without any issues. I’ve only faced one problem when I accidentally closed the case with a lead inside, and the music kept playing, which I didn’t like. They also offer IPX5 sweat and water splash protection, making them suitable for gym sessions and not worrying about a little water exposure.
Audio
When it comes to discussing audio quality, it’s good. While listening to music, you might feel the vocals are slightly subdued, but the instrumental sounds, with controlled bass and treble, all blend nicely to provide an immersive sound experience. Moreover, it features Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which allows you to enjoy music, and record audio or video without worrying about ambient noise.
During audio calls, the sound is loud and clear as well. Especially for gamers, it has a Gaming mode available which claims to have latency as low as 60ms. Personally, when I tested it, I did feel a slight latency, but it didn’t significantly affect the gaming experience. The audio quality of the Spacebud Glide within this price range impressed me.
Conclusion
If you’re looking for an overall budget option, I think the SpaceBud Max and Spacebuds Glide really stand out. Even with a budget of 3000k, it offers a lot of features along with good sound quality, plus a 6-month warranty. I believe this could be your best option within this price range. I personally found its sound quality impressive.
