Kick Nekxa Buds Z10 and Nekxa X10 Review Overview
The Kick Nekxa Buds Z10 and X10 offer budget-friendly prices with premium design and durability. They feature comfortable in-ear fits and touch controls, though touch sensitivity may vary. Sound quality and connectivity are satisfactory, but the X10 excels with better noise cancellation than the Z10. The Z10 lacks noise cancellation and has latency issues. For everyday use, these earbuds are a decent budget option, with the X10 being preferable for those prioritizing noise cancellation.

Kick, the well-known Nepali accessory brand, has introduced its latest online-exclusive sub-brand, Nekxa, unveiling the Kick Nekxa Buds Z10 and Nekxa X10 as one of its flagship products. The prices of these earbuds are Rs. 2,699 for Buds Z10 and Rs. 2,799 for X10. Upon visual inspection, the earbuds present an aesthetically pleasing appearance. However, to thoroughly assess their performance, let’s delve into how these earbuds performed during my testing phase. Now, without further, let’s know more about the latest earbuds by Nekxa.
Kick Nekxa Buds Z10 and Nekxa X10 Review
Case & Material
The designs of the Kick Nekxa Buds Z10 and X10 are quite similar, featuring rectangular and curved-shaped plastic cases with the brand logo visible on both earbuds and a USB Type C charging port at the bottom. However, there are slight differences; the X10 has its tor light at the front while the Z10 places them at the bottom. In terms of build and design, the Z10 case has a textured pattern, whereas the X10 does not. If you’re seeking budget-friendly and aesthetically pleasing buds, either the Z10 or X10 could fit the bill.
Kick Nekxa Buds Z10 and X10 cases are equipped with scratch-resistant material, so even if you carry the buds in your pocket, they won’t get scratched. Additionally, the company has incorporated an IPX5 rating for splash resistance, which is effective against light rain and sweat. However, it’s important to note that if you accidentally take a swim with the buds in your pocket, there’s a high likelihood of damage.
Earbuds Functions
When discussing the earbuds, both Kick Nekxa Buds Z10 and X10 feature a 10mm titanium driver and employ an in-ear design. They boast a remarkably lightweight construction, ensuring a snug and comfortable fit in the ears. From personal use, I can attest to their comfort, even when wearing a helmet or during walks, as I experienced no discomfort whatsoever. I was able to enjoy the buds for extended periods of 1 to 2 hours without feeling their presence, indicating their in-ear design buds’ comfortability.
Touch Executions
The Kick Nekxa Buds Z10 and X10 have touch controls, allowing for single, multiple, and long presses to perform different tasks like receiving or ending calls, music pause/play, volume up/down, and many more. However, the sensitivity of the touch feature is okay, but I experienced many unintended touches while using it.
Connectivity & Noise Cancellation
Kick Nekxa Buds Z10 and X10 earbuds come with built-in Bluetooth v5.3 for connecting wirelessly. Although they don’t support connecting to multiple devices at once, they pair well. The range of the earbuds is satisfactory, with no problems in regular usage, but some voice interruptions occur while biking, and there are occasional breaks in music playback.
The in-ear design improved comfort, and the Z10 headphones handled basic music well. They included Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) for clear phone calls but lacked specific noise cancellation for music. Meanwhile, the X10 headphones featured dedicated ENC for calls and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to block out more background noise, providing better noise reduction than just ENC buds.
Sound Quality
Kick Nekxa Buds Z10 and X10 both sets of earbuds offer decent sound quality. The X10 buds have average bass and audio quality, with so-so instrument separation and highs/lows. Similarly, the Z10 earbuds are average overall, but sometimes vocals sound a bit muffled. However, neither set of earbuds distorts at high volumes during testing.
As for the microphone quality, it performs well. During testing, both sets of earbuds produced clear call voices without any noise issues. You can listen to the recorded sound sample from the earbuds to judge for yourself.
Battery & Latency
Kick Nekxa Buds Z10 and X10 cases take about 1.5 hours to charge fully and can recharge the earbuds 3 to 4 times. At normal volume, the earbuds offer 2 to 3 hours of playback time.
When testing latency, the Z10 buds have 45 ms of low latency, while the X10 buds provide 55 ms. Both are okay for regular gaming, but for intense gaming, latency might be an issue. If you’re a serious gamer, you might want to consider other options like Nothing Ear (2) and OnePlus Buds Z2.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Kick Nekxa Buds Z10 and X10 are affordable options with aesthetically pleasing designs and durable build quality. Both earbuds offer comfortable in-ear fits and touch controls for various functions, although the touch sensitivity may be a concern for some users. While they provide satisfactory connectivity and sound quality, with the X10 offering better noise cancellation features compared to the Z10, both fall short in terms of intense gaming due to latency issues. However, for everyday use and casual gaming, these earbuds are solid choices, especially considering their budget-friendly prices.
