Both laptops sport a 16:10 IPS screen, with a 16-inch WQXGA display offering up to 240Hz refresh rate, 500 nits brightness, and 100% Adobe RGB coverage. These screens also include features like NVIDIA G-SYNC, X-Rite Pantone Certification, and Dolby Vision. Interestingly, there’s no FHD option this year, but Lenovo is expected to introduce it later for South Asia and other regions.

Performance & Memory
Within the Legion Pro 5 series, there are two models: Pro 5 and Pro 5i, with the “i” indicating an Intel processor. Lenovo has opted for the latest 13th Gen Intel HX-series mobile processors. The base configuration includes the Intel i7-13900H, while higher-end variants are available with Core i7-12700H and Core i9-13900HX. The AMD Ryzen-powered offers three CPU choices: Ryzen 5 7645HX, Ryzen 7 7745HX, and Ryzen 9 77845HX.
Apart from the CPU, the specifications of the 8th Gen Lenovo Pro 5 and Pro 5i are quite similar, including GPU options. The base model comes with RTX 3050 graphics, but users can upgrade to RTX 40-series GPUs such as RTX 4070, 4060, and 4070, all featuring a 140W TGP. The Legion Pro 5 series also incorporates a MUX switch for bypassing integrated graphics to enhance performance.
LA AI Chip & Cooling
This year’s Lenovo Legion series introduces gaming laptops with a dedicated AI chip. While AI-enhanced solutions have been used for gaming laptop performance, Lenovo claims that the new LA chips in its Legion laptops are the first AI hardware in laptops. The LA A1 in the Legion Pro 5 monitors CPU and GPU load to adjust heat management accordingly.
