Apple unveiled a slew of new items at its “Peak Performance” event on March 8th. In addition, the company unveiled the MacStudio, a completely new desktop computer.
Mac Studio is a compact tower computer that resembles two Mac Mini computers stacked on top of one another. Meanwhile, the new MacStudio desktop computer sits between the Mac Mini and Mac Pro in Apple’s computer lineup.
Let’s take a peek at Apple’s latest desktop, MacStudio, without any delay.
Summary of Mac Studio
Like nearly every other Apple product, MacStudio is also powered by an Apple-designed chip. It features an M1 Max processor, which can be upgraded to the M1 Ultra chip. However, the chip upgrade, memory, and storage enhancements will come at a cost.
The base-level MacStudio costs $1,999 and has the M1Max processor, whereas the MacStudio with the new M1Ultra chip costs $3,999.
Yet, it is a milestone in personal computing as the M1Max and the new M1Ultra is the world’s most powerful chip.
Similarly, it is the first computer to offer an unrivaled level of performance and a wide range of connectivity. Moreover, it has entirely new features in an astonishingly compact size that fits in a desk within arm’s reach.
Meanwhile, we’ll look into its further specifications, features, pricing, and availability in Nepal.
Possible Compile and Curate
Revolutionary Design
Mac Studio is built from single aluminum extrusion with a square footprint of 7.7 inches. Similarly, it stands 3.7 inches tall. According to Apple, MacStudio takes up extremely little room and fits perfectly under most displays.
Performance
Mac Studio is powered by either the M1 Max or M1 Ultra. Meanwhile, M1 Ultra offers exceptional CPU and GPU performance.
M1 Ultra is Apple’s next major leap forward in silicon. It offers an astounding performance to MacStudio. Meanwhile, M1Ultra is based on M1Max and has the all-new Ultra Fusion architecture.
It links the die of two M1Max chips to create a system on a chip (SoC) with unmatched performance and capabilities. As a result, this new chip lets you connect up to four Pro XDR displays and a 4K TV.
Furthermore, the M1Max comes with 32GB of unified memory, which is expandable up to 64GB. On the other hand, the M1Ultra comes with 64GB of unified memory that can be upgraded to 128GB.
Similarly, the M1Max has a 512GB SSD storage, while the M1Ultra has a 1TB SSD storage that goes up to an 8TB SSD.

Thermal
The MacStudio also has a revolutionary thermal design that allows for incredible performance. It has a unique double-sided fan, airflow channels, and over 4,000 perforations on the back and bottom of the enclosure. They guide air through the internal components and help keep the temperature in check. On the other hand, MacStudio performs exceptionally quietly, even under the most demanding workloads, thanks to the efficiency of Apple silicon.
Connectivity
There is an SD card slot and two Thunderbolt 4 connectors on the front. Meanwhile, the thermal system takes up half of the internal space to keep the system cool during periods of high load.
Furthermore, there are four more Thunderbolt ports on the back of the device. It comes with a 10 Gbps Ethernet port, two USB Type-A ports, an HDMI port, and a “pro” audio jack port.
In addition, the MacStudio supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 for wireless connectivity. Also, MacStudio has a built-in speaker for audio.
