Mivi, an Indian company, is becoming more popular in Nepal thanks to its good reviews on online shopping platforms. Today, we’ll be talking about the Mivi Duopods K5, which gives a decent and comfortable fit. Its highlights features include AI ENC, Super Solid Bass, IPX4 rating, and fast charging. We’ll discuss how well it works, how good it sounds, how well it’s built, and how it looks. Let’s get started.
Mivi Duopods K5 Review
Packaging
The Mivi Duopods K5 earbuds come in a cardboard box with the Mivi logo and important features listed. Inside, you’ll find the earbuds, papers with information, a charging cable, and different-sized ear tips.
Design & Feel
The Duopods K5 comes in a circular case with the Mivi logo on top and a light at the bottom front to show when it’s charging. You can charge it with a USB-C cable at the back. Plus, it’s available in five colors to choose from.
When it comes to these earbuds, the hinge on the case feels a bit loose on one side, but even though it’s loose, the hinge still seems durable to me.
The earbuds have a sleek metal design that feels really high-quality. The soft silicon ear tips fit perfectly in my ears and feel great, even after wearing them for a long time. They don’t have LED lights, but you can control them by tapping on them, which works well for things like playing music, answering calls, or activating voice assistance. They’re also splash-proof with an IPX4 rating, so they can handle a bit of water, but don’t take them out in heavy rain or for swimming.
Connectivity
These earbuds have Bluetooth version 5.3 and can connect to multiple devices at once, which is unusual for earbuds in this price range. They also have a good range for connecting to devices. In my usage, I didn’t face any issues like disconnecting, range problems, or distortions and delays caused by obstacles.
Sound Quality
Talking about the sound quality of Mivi Duopods K5, it has a 13mm sound driver which is claimed to have super solid bass. Personally, I quite liked it as it has moderate bass, which suits my preference well. But if you’re someone looking for deep and heavy bass, you might find this earbud lacking in that aspect. However, it excels in instrument separation, allowing you to easily identify different instruments. The earbuds also have good loudness, and the lows and highs are decent too. Overall, I’d say these earbuds are pretty good.
Moreover, it also has an AI-ENC feature which provides a clear calling experience as per the company. Decide by yourself, if these earbuds improve the calling experience or not.
Note: The AI-ENC feature is on by default.
Gaming
The earbuds offer a low latency mode of 50 milliseconds, marketed as Gaming Mode by the company. This mode is suitable for casual gaming, but if you’re looking to play more advanced games, it’s advisable to use wired headphones, or generally, traditional headphones are better suited for gaming of any kind.
Battery & Playtime
According to the Mivi, the Duopods K5 comes with 50 hours of overall playback time and 8 hours of playback time from earbuds only. While testing it gave only 4 hours of playback time from playing normal music for a continuous period. The company hasn’t specified exactly how many times the earbuds case can charge them. During our testing period, we were able to charge them up to four times. Overall, the earbuds deliver 16 hours of playtime which can either be high or low sometimes, it all depends on how you use it.
Conclusion
In summary, when evaluating both the design and audio quality of the Mivi Duopods K5, it appears to be a favorable option. However, it’s worth noting that Mivi offers alternative earbuds such as the Duopods K7, which boast comparable performance and are priced similarly, typically falling below the 3000 mark. This suggests that while the Duopods K5 may be appealing, consumers may want to explore other models within Mivi’s range for potentially similar benefits at a similar price point.
