What is Namaste Pay:
Namaste Pay is yet another e-wallet as the likes of IME Pay, e-Sewa, Khalti, etc. but the seer the fact that it is a joint venture of Nepal Telecom and Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited that already has more than NRs.4 Crores in paid-up capital indeed speaks of the scale at which it will be launching. If you’re not that much into details, Namaste Pay is one of the 27 Payment Service Providers currently licensed in Nepal. While mobile wallets have indeed evolved in terms of feature sets, and Namaste Pay is supposed to bring those to the table, plus the fact that Nepal Telecom is involved means you can expect some offline features. Rumors suggest that your phone number would serve as a bank account and be targeted more towards rural areas where internet access is still a daydream.
