Obi MV1 comes with a dual-sim(micro sim + micro sim) option and the sim card can be inserted by removing 2500 mAh removable battery. The phone does not come with a hybrid sim-tray which gives the option to use both dual-sim and a microSD card which wouldn’t have been possible if it had a hybrid sim tray because hybrid sim tray allows users to use either a sim card and a microSD card or both sim cards only instead of a microSD card.
Display
Obi MV1 incorporates a floating display which gives it a unique and stylish look compared to other smartphones available in the market. This phone is a great choice for those who wish to have a unique smartphone within an affordable budget and the phone also produces vibrant colours and is very responsive to the fingers. Obi MV1 comes with a “Sunlight Display” which help the users to use the phone outdoors but under direct sunlight, you will have to glare a bit on the display to read the text messages and do other stuff.
Performance
Talking about the performance of the Obi MV1, the performance of this phone was good during the review period on normal uses but during the heavy use, I have faced a bit fall in the performance and also drop in the frame rate of the phone. The main cause of the drop in the performance is due to the processor which is not built for heavy use. Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 chipset with 1.3GHz processor is not a great combination for using for performing heavy tasks but I got surprised by seeing that the phone performs better in the real world as I didn’t get any lag or down in the performance during normal uses which may be due to the 2GB RAM used in this device. The cyanogen interface gives a user more option to customise their phone according to their taste which is really a great option provided by Obi to its users. During the review period, I felt that the phone heats up easily in the normal use also and gets pretty hot to the point where the user has to struggle to hold the phone in the hand during heavy usage.

Camera
Obi MV1 is packed with 8MP of rear camera with f2.2 aperture and a LED flash. Along with it, this phone has a 2MP front facing camera which is both average cameras compared to other smartphones available in the market. The rear camera is capable of shooting up to 720p videos and offers a frame rate of 60 frames per second with which you can try slow motion videos as well. However, you cannot shoot at 60 frames per second at a resolution of 720p.The camera in MV1 is good compared to the price that you are paying for.
Obi MV1 Camera Sample |
During the review period, I found the camera taking some awesome photos with a level of detail colour production. Obi MV1 comes with three different auto exposure modes which improve the photo quality. The low light photography with this camera is a messy job and the pictures are not clear and smooth. The front camera in the MV1 is not the best as compared to the other smartphones in its price range but it tries to take some decent photos.
Battery
Battery performance of the Obi MV1 is satisfactory, this phone gave me 24 hours of battery backup in the normal use but during the heavy usage, the battery performance is poor. I would like to say that the battery performance depends on various factors and judging the battery with only 10 days of use.
