AMD has announced their latest Graphic card in the form of the Radeon RX 6600 XT. Based on the new RDNA 2 microarchitecture, the RX 6600 XT becomes AMD’s new entry-level RX6000-series GPU at $379. Let’s take a closer look at what this new card promising “ultimate 1080p gaming experience” bring to the table.

Internals:

Built on the 7nm process and based on the new Navi 23 GPU, the new AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT features 32 compute units. These compute units are paired with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM with 256GB/s bandwidth. As for the clock speed, the RX 6600 XT gets a 2359 MHz base clock, 2589 MHz boost clock, and draws 160W of power.

There’s 32MB of onboard Infinity Cache which is lesser compared to the previous RX 6000-Series graphics cards that came with 96MB or 128MB of Infinity Cache.

Where does it stand?

With a price tag of $379, it locks horns with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 12GB which was launched with a $329 price tag. For the extra $50, AMD claims that it beats the RTX 3060 in terms of performance by 15%.

AMD has been marketing the RX 6600 XT as the new pedestal of 1080p gaming and considering that even the gaming consoles touting the AMD 6000-series graphics can churn out 4K, you can at least expect it to run on 1440p without any hiccups.

Price and Availability:

Amidst the surge in minging and the global GPU shortage, the $379 pricetag actually means a price that you may or may not be able to get your hands on the RX 6600 XT at. Regardless, the PC gaming enthusiasts have a new mid-range offering to be joyous about. The RX 6600 XT is supposed to go on sale starting August 11. But this time around, there’s no standard AMD chip rolling out, instead, the RX  6600 XT will be made available with partners like ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, etc.

As for the price in Nepal, considering the current traits with GPUs, you can expect it to be priced at NRs.70,000 if and when it comes to Nepal.
