Following a long wait, the new Samsung Galaxy M51 was finally unveiled to the world on the 31st of August. Marketed as the “Meanest Monster,” this phone has a lot of hype surrounding it due to its monstrous 7000mAh battery, blazing-fast processors, and 64MP quad-camera setup. In this Samsung Galaxy M51 review, we will look in detail into the new beast of a phone – its performance, design, battery, etc. and also its international price and the estimated price in Nepal.
Samsung Galaxy M51: The “Meanest Monster”
Display and Build:
With a motto of “Go big or go home,” the screen of the Galaxy M51 comes at a massive 6.7-inches. This immersive Infinity-O sAMOLED+ Display is reportedly 43% slimmer and 28% lighter(compared with IPS LCD of Samsung Galaxy A21s). With a cinematic aspect ratio of 20:9 and a contrast ratio of 78960:1, this AMOLED screen produces vivid colors with clear contrast and deep dark blacks.
The design of the M51 is entirely on the minimalist side. Samsung has always been one to embrace simple monochrome(single color) designs. Despite coming with a massive 7000mAh battery, it manages to arrive at a sleek(relatively) 9.5mm thickness. The whole phone weighs 213 grams, which is quite a bit heavier than traditional phones of this size, however considering the ginormous battery, this isn’t that much of a surprise.
Cameras:
The M51 comes with a mean quad-camera setup housed on the left side of the rear body. The rectangular panel that houses this setup consists of three camera lenses aligned vertically, and one camera placed beside the bottom lens below the LED flash.
The primary camera comes at an impressive 64MP. Apart from this powerhouse of a primary camera, the camera setup also includes a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, a 5MP macro lens, and a 5MP depth sensor. The Sony IMX682 Sensor lenses support some powerful features like My Filters(Up to 99 custom filters), Night Hyperlapse, Hyperlapse, Best Moments, Smart Crop, etc. The 12MP ultra-wide camera comes with a 123-degree field-of-view and still retains natural-looking colors. The Macro lens supports close-distance shots with great detail, and the 5MP sensor allows for smart Bokeh effects using Samsung’s proprietary AI-photography algorithms.
On the front, we have a powerful 32-MP camera with powerful color correction and face detection that supports features like Smart Angle Selfie. Your selfies with this bad boy are going to end up crispy, clear, and cute. The Single Take – Multiple Outputs modes and custom filters are on standby to ensure this.

Hardware and performance:
The M51 sports the powerful Snapdragon™ 730G processor, with 8nm power-efficient architecture. with an Octa-core (2×2.2 GHz Kryo 470 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 470 Silver) CPU and a powerful Adreno 618 GPU, it provides godlike gaming performance with AI game booster and numerous software optimizations. The phone is available in two memory options: 6GB RAM + 128GB internal memory or 8GB RAM + 128GB internal memory.
On the software side of things, we have the company’s OneUI 2.1 on top of Android 10. The OneUI cover is optimized for user friendliness and also supports one-handed use.
Battery:
This is the real meat of the sandwich folks. Recently, we’ve seen companies like Gionee pump out a 10,000mAh battery phone, although it was for more of a budget price. The M51 is battery-focused too, bringing 7,000mAh battery capacity in a mid-ranged phone for probably the first time.
This massive battery suppors 64 hours of talk time, 24-hours of talk time, 34-hours of video playtime and upto 182-hours of continuous music playback.
The phone supports 25W fast-charging – the fast charger is also included in the box. Courtesy of its massive 7000mAh battery, reverse charging with this phone is pretty useful. This way the phone can also be used as a powerbank. The Type-C to Type-C charger, we’re happy to say, comes included in the box too.
