Xiaomi Mi 11
Xiaomi has officially released its flagship Xiaomi Mi 11 in Nepal. Though it was released back in January this year, it was kept exclusive to China and Europe. As a matter of fact, the Mi 11 didn’t release in India. Regardless, it is now finally here, and let’s get on with it.
Design and Display:
The Xiaomi Mi 11 is a flagship and it translates to better build quality. The Mi 11 gets an aluminum frame with glass on either side or vegan leather for the back to choose from. If you opt for the anti-glare frosted glass back design, it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and weighs lesser than the vegan leather options. The glass back does add some thickness over the leather one. Regardless of which trim you choose for your back panel, NFC and Wireless Charging is standard. And as with all Xiaomi phones, the IR blaster is present and accounted for.
To the front, we have a 6.81” inch AMOLED panel with WQHD+ resolution (3200×1400 pixels for numbers) protected by the new Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. This is an E4 AMOLED panel that gives it 1,500 nits of peak brightness with a 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate. The panel is curved and has a hole-punch cutout which Xiaomi calls DotDisplay. Regardless, this panel has got an A+ rating awarded by Display Mate and being an AMOLED panel, the fingerprint sacanner resides underneath the display.
Performance and Memory:
Underneath the hood, we have Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 888 5nm SoC running the how. This is an octa-core chipset with 1x Cortex X1 core clocked at 2.84Ghz, 3x Cortex A78 core clocked at 2.42GHz, and 4x Cortex A55 cores clocked at 1.8Ghz each. The Snapdragon 888 gets an integrated 5G modem making the Mi 11 5G capable. Graphics duties are handled by Adreno 660 GPU.

This new core combination gives 35% performance gain and 20% efficiency gain. To sustain peak performance and keep temperatures in check, Mi 11 gets VC Liquid Cool technology. You get 8GB and 12 GB RAM options. While the 12GB RAM option comes with 256GB of onboard storage, if you go for the 8GB variant you can choose between 128GB or 256GB of storage.
The Mi 11 runs on MIUI 12.5 built on top of Android 11, which makes Mi 11 the first Xiaomi phone to run the new MIUI 12.5 out-of-the-box.
Camera:
For optics, the Mi 11 gets a triple camera setup with a primary108MP camera with a 1/1.33” sensor and hs Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The primary sensor supports 8K video recording. Other than that, there’s a 13MP secondary ultrawide camera with a 123° Field of View and the third one is a 5MP tele-macro lens. The punch-hole cutout up front houses a 20Mp selfie shooter.
Audio:
Audio on the device is worth mentioning, as the dual speakers on the Mi 11 are Harman Kardon tuned. It also has bluetooth 5.2 so you can pair it to two different bluetooth devices at the same time. As the Mi 11 is a flagship offering, there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack here.
Battery and Charing:
The Xiaomi Mi 11 gets a 4,600mAh battery with support for 55 Watts TurboCharge which can fully juice up the device in 45 minutes. There’s also support for 50 Watt fast wireless charging and 10 Watt reverse wireless charging.
