The new Xiaomi Pad 5 series tablets are likely to be released this week or next week in Nepal. It was unveiled alongside the Xiaomi MIX 4 and other Xiaomi devices at a Xiaomi event. The Xiaomi Pad 5 and Pad 5 Pro are the current models in the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 series. Both tablets have the same specifications and functionalities. Xiaomi Pad 5, Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 5G Overview:
Design and Display
The 11-inch IPS LCD panel of the Xiaomi Pad 5 series supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit TrueTone technology. On the Xiaomi Pad 5 and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro, you can watch Dolby Vision and HDR10 video.
At the back, we can see a camera module similar to the Mi 11 series. Both Xiaomi Pad 5 and Pro share the same dimensions of 254.69 x 166.25 x 6.86mm. However, the vanilla Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro version is somewhat heavier (515gm) than the Xiaomi Pad 5. In addition, the Pad 5 Pro 5G is significantly heavier weighs at 518gm.
Optical Features:
On the optical side, they’re both equipped with separate camera sets. The Xiaomi Pad 5 has a single rear camera system with a 13 MP sensor. The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro, on the other hand, has a dual-camera configuration with a 13 MP primary sensor and a 5 MP depth sensor. Finally, the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 5G has a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.
All of the tablets have an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for taking stunning selfies. In terms of videography, the front and back cameras can capture videos in 4K@30fps, 1080p@30fps, with gyro-EIS.
Performance and Memory
The CPU is the most significant difference between the two variants. Firstly, the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 5G processor. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Pad 5 is powered by a Snapdragon 860 processor.
Talking about the storage, the device supports 128GB and 256GB of internal storage. There is 6GB RAM. The Xiaomi Pad Pro 5G, on the other hand, is only available in a single memory combination of 8/256GB.
Software and Connectivity
The Xiaomi Pad 5 series runs on a tablet-specific version of MIUI. Xiaomi claims to have optimized 300 popular apps for use on the platform, with plans to add more in the future.
For a desktop-like experience, the UI enables input from an external keyboard and pen, split-screen mode, numerous windows, and other capabilities.
The network features support 5G, Dual Nano-SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, LE, USB Type-C, loudspeakers with stereo speakers for connectivity. Unfortunately, the tablets do not have a 3mm audio jack.
Keyboard and Stylus Pen
Xiaomi Pad 5 series packs a magnetic keyboard and stylus pen. Moreover, the keyboard serves as a protective cover for the laptop. It has a special full-screen mode exit button. The stylus has a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. It comes with two buttons and weighs roughly 12.2 grams. The Xiaomi stylus Pen features pressure sensitivity of 4096 levels, flex writing, and fast wireless charging. The Pen lasts up to 8 hours on a single charge.
Rest of the specs
The battery in the Xiaomi Pad 5 is 8,720mAh and supports 33W rapid charging. Meanwhile, the battery in the Xiaomi Pro Model is 8,600mAh with support for 67W charging.
While the regular Xiaomi Pad 5 includes a quad-speaker system, the Pro variants have an additional eight speakers. All three of them have Dolby Atmos audio support.

Xiaomi always puts forward quality over quality. Hence, the Xiaomi Pad 5 series would impress us. The decent battery life, good display, and the material used in these tablets justify the price range. Meanwhile, there hasn’t been any announcement regarding the Pro series. That means we will have to wait till the release to know more about the Xiaomi Pad 5 series. And whether it is going to launch the Pro series or not.
