Xiaomi Redmi 4A has a similar design as compared to other smartphones from Xiaomi. The outer body of this phone has a metal like texture which is made up of plastic which gives this phone a metallic look with plastic body feel. The phone has a dimension of 139.5 * 70.4 *8.5 mm and weighs just 131.5g. This phone has 5 inches of IPS LCD display with 720*1280 pixels resolution. On top-front, the phone has a 5MP of front facing camera, Ambient Light Sensor, and an Earpiece.

On the right side of the phone, there is the power key and the volume rocker key. On the left, there is a hybrid sim tray. On the top, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack port. Similarly, on the bottom, there is a micro USB port for charging and data transfer along with a primary microphone.

Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with a 5 inches of HD display (720 * 1280 pixel resolution). The display is not the best in the market, but it produces the vibrant colors and is very responsive to the fingers. During the review period, I have felt that while using the phone under direct sunlight you have to glare a bit on the screen to read the text. Compared to other smartphones in the market, Xiaomi Redmi 4A’s screen is quite bright, and there is no such problem while using the phone outdoor’s except under direct sunlight.

Xiaomi Redmi 4A is a budget friendly phone, but the performance of the phone was excellent during our review period. The phone is equipped with Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB RAM and Adreno 308 GPU which is more than enough for casual gaming and multi-tasking. We have played games like Asphalt 8, WWE Immortals and many other heavy games on this phone during the review period and we experienced no any problem while running the games but there were few frame drops and lags. If you are a not a power user and a professional gamer, then the phone works perfectly without lag or drop in the performance. This phone comes with a Bluetooth v4.1 which is energy efficient. Along with that the IR blaster in this phone was also very accurate as we were able to control almost any electronic gadgets like TV, AC, Fans, Speakers and much more. During the review period, we felt that this phone heats up a bit while using the mobile data and while playing games for a longer period, but it is common in almost every phone on the market.

The camera of this phone is same as the Redmi 3. This phone takes great photos during the daylight, but in low-light conditions, the camera struggles to take great pictures and misses the details in it. The same thing applies to the front facing camera as well. The camera can take videos up to 1080p, and the video quality is excellent with detail color reproduction. The camera is not the best, but it does the job better than the most of the other smartphone’s camera in the market.

Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with a 3120 mAh non-removable battery which is less than most of the other Xiaomi smartphones. During the review period, I have got 5-6 hours of On Screen Time which was better than what I have expected. During the regular use, I got the battery backup up to a day and a half in which I used Facebook, watched videos online and surfed the internet. The phone also supports Quick Charge 2.0 technology.

Overall the phone is perfect in its price range and if you are looking for a decent phone which is light weighted and handles most of the task without any hassles and most importantly is affordable then Xiaomi Redmi 4A is the perfect phone for you. The phone looks good, battery life is great, and the performance is also good, but the camera could have been better, but for the price, it is the best. My experience with this phone is great, and I recommend this phone to anyone who is tight in its budget and more importantly who is looking for a phone which can handle almost everything.
