ZTE, the Chinese tech giant, has yet to release another flagship smartphone, ZTE Axon 50 Ultra. It is the successor of the Axon 40 Ultra and Axon Tab, while also following the footsteps of the competitive brands it has included satellite communication technology.

Build & Display
This flagship smartphone is constructed with aluminum frames and glass on both the front and back. And features a 6.67-inch FHD+ 10-bit AMOLED display on the front that offers a high refresh rate of 144Hz.

Performance, OS & Memory
It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which utilizes 4nm fabrication technology. In which the octa-core CPU in this chipset is comprised of one Cortex-X2 clocked at 3.0 GHz, three Cortex-A710 clocked at 2.75 GHz, and four Cortex-A510 clocked at 2.0 GHz, while the Adreno 730 GPU handles graphics processing.
Including LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 onboard storage, although the specific capacity of both have not yet been disclosed. ZTE has also integrated a proprietary hardware-level encryption security chip into this smartphone. The Axon 50 Ultra comes pre-installed with ZTE’s MyOS, which is based on Android 13.
Cameras
In terms of optics, it boasts a triple rear camera system with a 64MP Sony IMX787 sensor as its primary camera. Alongside it, the back camera module features a 50MP telephoto sensor with OIS and a 50MP ultrawide camera. Meanwhile, the front-facing camera is located under the punch-hole cutout and has a 16MP resolution.
Video recording on the front camera is limited to 1080p at 30 frames per second, while the rear cameras can capture videos of up to 8K resolution at 30 frames per second.
Satellite Technology
The Axon 50 Ultra provides a unique feature of two-way satellite messaging for situations when cellular service is not available. This is made possible by utilizing the BeiDou satellite, which is also used by Huawei for a similar purpose.
Battery & Other Features
It fuels on a 5000mAh battery that supports rapid charging up to 80W. Offering wireless connectivity options such as NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual-band Wi-Fi 6E.
