The latest IdeaPad Flex 5 is a 2-in-1 convertible laptop. You can use the device as a laptop or as a tablet with the support of tent and stand mode, plus the 360-degree hinge.
For display, it is available in two sizes of display, 14-inch, and 16-inch. Both have the same specs but 14″ is compact and 15″ is wider. But both of them have the same features like a WUXGA multi-touch IPS screen. Including a glossy screen with 300 nits of brightness and 45% NTSC coverage.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 16 inches is 85% made up of plastic, but adonized aluminum is used in the cover parts. 18.7mm thickness, and weighs around 2.1kg compared to it, 14” is slimmer and lighter.
The high-end laptop which has high resolution with up to 100% DCI-P3 and even the all-plastic models which are more portable is not available in the Nepali market.

Performance
The IdeaPad Flex 5 processor which is available in Nepal, is the latest Intel Core i7 1255U. It is a new hybrid architecture that brings 2 performance, 8 efficiency cores, and a total of 12 threads.
And fluents a max clock speed of up to 3.5GHz and a 12MB cache. Then it is paired with soldered 8GB and 16GB RAM variants which can’t be upgraded anymore with up to 1TB SSD for storage.
Another Lenovo laptop which is only available globally offers 12th Core i3 and Core i5 mobile processors. Along with that, there is a difference in keyboard sets in all the variants. The 14″ is small due to that it doesn’t have a dedicated numeric keypad.
Otherwise, both keyboards have white backlit and are accompanied by mylar touchpads. There is even a touch-style fingerprint scanner lying in isolation on the palm rest.
For audio, it has front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby Audio support. And for webcam, has an FHD quality with a dedicated privacy shutter.
Battery & Connectivity
Fueling on a 52.5Wh cell and a 65W adapter in all new Flex 5 models. The battery portion also varies, the IdeaPad Flex 5 16” (2022) is rated for 11.5 hours of continuous local video streaming.
But all the variants get 1x Thunderbolt, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, 1x HDMI, 1x combined audio jack, and an SD Card reader. Although there is no ethernet port, you still get Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless networks.

Final Thoughts
The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 Series have many models to it but all the models they got good resolution, peak brightness, and display with their price segments.
For performance, everything is as segmented as its price but it does have a downside to it. The new chip that supports laptop memory is soldered meaning you won’t be able to upgrade it.
The battery capacity also varies as per the display size. But the device which is available in Nepal is said to be rated for 11.5 hours of continuous local video streaming.
