OnePlus 6
OnePlus is a company which manufactures powerful phones for tech fans on a budget. Since the company came into existence, it has manufactured powerful smartphones with first-class looks, feel, and performance against big-name rivals. OnePlus 6 is a smartphone whose specs comfortably match its market competitors, costing more than the OnePlus’s latest “flagship killer”.
OnePlus 6 comes with a glass body protected by Corning Gorilla 5 on both the front and back sides of the phone, which is quite challenging. The phone is wrapped into a frame horizon line, which makes the phone slim and gives an attractive look while holding it in hand. Seeing the phone from the right, we will find a three-position switch that lets us quickly choose between volume on, vibrate, and silent mode without accessing the mobile UI.
We can find a volume rocker button and dual sim card slot on the phone’s left side. On the down portion of the phone, we can discover a type C-port and a 3.5mm audio jack, which is getting rare in flagships. Talking about the front side of the phone, the OnePlus 6 has a larger 6.28-inch bezel-less display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 with an Optic AMOLED screen and a resolution of 2280×1080 pixels with 402ppi pixel density. The top of the screen resembles the iPhone X and houses an earpiece, proximity sensor, notification light and a 16MP front camera.

The processor inside the OnePlus 6 has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC Octa-core processor with a clock speed of 2.8GHz (4 cores) and 1.7GHz (4 seats), making the phone blazing fast. With the latest Snapdragon processor, the phone has two RAM options(6GB/8GB) and three storage variants (64GB/128GB/256GB) combined with Adreno 630 GPU for gaming and related graphics. On the phone’s backside, we can find a dual camera setup vertically aligned with a primary sensor of 16MP and a secondary sensor of 20MP with f/1.7 aperture. The primary camera comes with Optical Image Stabilization and Electronic Image Stabilization, which can capture 4K video at 60 fps. The camera also has features like portrait mode with advanced HDR mode, slow-motion video mode of 240 fps @ 1080p, and super slow motion 480fps @ 720p, which can record up to a minute. The front camera of the OnePlus 6 is 16MP, having an aperture of f/2.0 with electronic image stabilisation for stable selfies.
For connectivity, OnePlus 6 is bundled with Dual 4G-LTE nano-SIM card slots without a MicroSD slot, so we can not expand the storage. The phone also supports dual-band WIFI, and it also comes with dual standby for VoLTE using both SIMs and Bluetooth 5.0. The phone is also water splash resistant, and for security purposes, the phone features a fingerprint scanner on the rear side and face unlock features to secure your phone from unauthorised access.
The phone comes with Oreo 8.1 and the latest version of Oxygen OS out of the box. The phone has a battery capacity of 3300mAh battery. It also supports fast charging.
OnePlus 6 costs Rs 71,000 in Nepal for the 6GB RAM variant with 64GB onboard internal memory. The phone is overpriced compared to the International market as the OnePlus 6 was launched for $529, which is around Rs.56920.4 (1$ = Rs 107.60) in Nepalese currency. Similarly, the same variant was found in India for 34,999, which is Rs.55,998.4, after converting it to Nepalese currency. It is disappointing to see an overpriced phone from a company that aims to provide high-quality phones at an affordable price.
