Vivo Y1s launched in Nepal. Vivo has priced it at NRs.12,999 for the 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant and here’s what you get for that price.

As it is an entry-level smartphone, it boasts a plastic body i.e. a plastic frame and a plastic back. The entire contraption measures 8.28mm in thickness and weighs in at 161grams. The back is left clean as there’s no fingerprint scanner and all it gets to the back is a Vivo branding and a single camera with LED flash.

Upfront, the phone has a 6.22 inch IPS LCD panel with a dewdrop notch. The aspect ratio of the device is 79:9 and the resolution here is 720x1520px i.e. HD+. This gives the Vivo Y1s an 88.6% screen-to-body ratio and a pixel density of 270ppi.

The performance aspect of the device is handled by a MediaTek Helio P35 SoC. This 12nm chipset is an octa-core CPU with a maximum clock speed of 2.35GHz. This is paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage which is expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot.

Handling the graphic duties is the PowerVR GE8320 GPU.


The single-camera to the back is a 13MP f/2.2 shooter with PDAF that can record 1080p videos at 30fps. The selfie shooter is a 5MP f/1.8 camera.

Software and Connectivity:

On the software side of things, the Vivo Y1s runs Funtouch 10.5 based on Android 10. For connectivity, the Vivo Y1s gets Bluetooth 5.0 and 4G alongside Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, and hotspot support.
